Highways England Control Room Trainer 

Reports To: Contract Manager  

Job Overview:  To teach new traffic officers the motorway management systems in a regional motorway control room. 

Key Deliverables: 

• To ensure recruit competence on safety critical motorway management systems 
• To follow detailed training plans to ensure compliance with operating standards 
• To become familiar with IT systems utilised in a control room environment 

Qualifications: 

Mandatory 

• Confident in the use of Microsoft Office products 
• Have good knowledge of UK driving and network standards 
• Accurate and good attention to detail with written work 

Desirable 

• Any previous control room or telephony-based experience will be useful 
• Ability to be able to travel and stay away from home if required 
• Course durations can be up to fourteen days in length
